RENESIM Hong Kong Insider Guide

China’s third largest metropolitan region has used the time since returning in 1997 to China and is now more fascinating than ever. Hong Kong of West in the far East and is located at the top of the world’s most dynamic and most international centres. The skyline is breathtaking. The particular geography with the chic, dominated by the high finance Hong Kong Island and the opposite Chinese Kowloon, gives the city its pulsating voltage. The many museums, concert halls and “Performance Spaces”, offer fantastic cultural highlights, which makes a very worth visiting melting pot of cultures, with almost endless Erkundungsm options from this city.

In our search for the most precious and most beautiful gems of the world, we were already the 5th time in Hong Kong. It has emerged friends living in a small list of insider tips from personal discoveries and recommendations from there, we would like to share with you in this context:

Indigo Hotel: Hong Kong is so exciting, it can be exhausting if you are throughout the day. A good hotel is therefore absolutely to recommend in order to have a rest and to enjoy the city even more. A good price / performance ratio provides the boutique skyscraper Hotel Indigo, which is equipped with a glass wall swimming pool on the roof. Ask for a corner room as possible near the top. The location is good, the service is spectacular not quite as anonymous as in the larger hotels, the Outlook. Who wants to spend more money is raised in the Upper House .

If you come directly from the airport, I highly recommend a Chinese massage. Luxe Spa, right around the corner of the Hotel Indigo, one feels after a 50-minute application for approximately 30 euro like new born and immediately forgot all travel hardships. After a tour of Kowloon a good foot massage at Chuan Spa at the Langham Place Hotel especially: ‘based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, on arrival you’ll be given a full ‘sensory’ assessment’.

Also recommend:
The English high tea at 5 in the afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton (not peninsula, which is very touristy!). Here, Hong Kong’s wealthiest and most fashionable people meet to perform their jewels to Petit four and orange Pekoe.

Lunch in the Duddell BB´s. A green oasis in the city

Chom Chom – modern Vietnamese food, cooked right in front of the guest. Very stylish, located in Soho! Then in the v lounge for a drink.

Sevva bar – after dinner with the best views of the city in the midst of the skyscraper. An unforgettable experience!

Oyster Bar at the Sheraton Kowloon overlooking the skyline of Hong Kong Island. Incredible selection for the the oysters like. Approximately 20 different types in modern Chinese atmosphere.

American restaurant – best Peking duck of town, ambience very very simple but typical Chinese and loud!

Who has time for a day at the beach, I suggest the Shek O Beach. There’s a nice French restaurant directly on the beach. The drive there takes about 45 minutes. The Wave Bay, Shek O (a Bay further) should be also very nice and a paradise for surfers.

Really arrived every Hong Kong passenger can only be, if he is hit with the Star Ferry from the Mainland to the island and back. There are to absorb no nicer way Hong Kong’s magic, so gently across to be rocked.

From the water to the mountain
People who like the tourist program, should in any case on Hong Kong’s local mountain the peak. There opens up a unique view over the city. The ride in the historic peak is beautiful tram which brings passengers up the mountain since 1885. If you have the time, can take some steps to Lugard Road and enjoying the view simply from the nature out.

The following is part 2 with images of spectacular gems, diamond treasures and beautiful jewels rarities that we could see on our journey…
